- Si può affermare che i robot sono vivi?
- E se sì, per quali ragioni?
Robots and Life… in Everyday Life
Maybe not even Jacques de Vaucanson – the inventor of automata that delighted European Aristocrats in the 18th century – could have imagined that, in the third millennium, one of the most common interactions between humans and robots would have taken on the form of games. Not even contemporary philosophers of science and technology imagined to find themselves faced with new toy robots, able to interact – even emotionally – with people of every age. Several studies have indeed shown that children who play with toy robots tend spontaneously to consider them to be "alive." Thus raising many questions on the boundary lines between how we define life both naturally and artificially.
- Can we state that robots are living beings?
- And if so, for which reasons?
